I have followed you instructions for installing asterisk (i am on mac os x tiger), but when finished there are no files in the /etc/asterisk directory. Do you have any idea why this may be? I installed bison and have the xcode installed. Is there anything else i need?

TTDaVett - You are sure that everything compiled correctly and didn't error out?
A few things to look for.
1. Did you make sure you did a "sudo make install". You need to make sure you do sudo, since you must be root to install.
2. Inside the directory for the Asterisk source where you compiled it, you should see a "main" directory and inside there a "asterisk" executable. If that is not there, you did not compile the source correctly. Feel free to contact me directly if you need more help - justin[[at]]localtone.com
